ETHNOLOGICAL COLLECTION
The Ethnological Collection represents a testament to the life of the people, their way of living, and culture through artifacts of material culture from the period just before the end of the Ottoman rule in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Austro-Hungarian rule, and partially during the Kingdom of Yugoslavia.
It includes a collection of textile crafts (functional items intended for decorating the home, items that were part of a bride's dowry or wedding gifts, clothing items), a collection of jewelry and items made of wood and metal (weapons, carved wooden furniture, plates, water pitchers, coffee pots, oil lamps, etc.), with outstanding examples that are known to have been made in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as examples crafted abroad.
Part of the collection is displayed in the permanent exhibition at the Gazi Husrev-beg Hamam.
