Adil Zulfikarpašić’s Road to Emigration
Marko Hoare, phD, Associate Professor
Abstract: Adil Zulfikarpašić was a deputy Minister in the People’s Government of Bosnia-Hercegovina following the end of World War II and the country’s liberation from occupation. However, as an independently minded individual he quickly fell foul of the regime and was forced to take refuge abroad. This paper will explore the political circumstances in Bosnia-Hercegovina in the immediate post-liberation era and the case of Adil Zulfikarpašić’s emigration as symptom of the establishment of the Communist dictatorship.
