PORTRAIT GALLERY

A significant segment of the Art Collection of the Bosniak Institute – Adil Zulfikarpašić Foundation consists of portraits created in various techniques and materials, honoring great figures of Bosnian-Herzegovinian history, such as Kulin Ban, King Tvrtko I Kotromanić, Safvet-beg Bašagić, Mehmed Spaho, Mehmedalija Mak Dizdar, and others. The collection also includes portraits and busts of Adil Zulfikarpašić and members of his family.

The bronze bust of Reis Džemaludin Čaušević is the work of Ivan Meštrović (1883–1962), the most prominent sculptor of Croatian modern sculpture. The paintings of Špiro Bocarić (1876–1941) testify to the emergence of civil portraiture in Bosnia and Herzegovina, while Ismet Mujezinović (1907–1984), with his masterful painterly style, authentically portrays the founder of the Institute, Adil Zulfikarpašić, his wife Tatjana, and his father, Husein-beg.

Some of the artists represented in the collection with portrait-themed works include Jovan Bijelić, Kosta Angeli Radovani, Vladimir Herljević, Safet Zec, Adis Elias Fejzić, Sead Ekmečić, Enes Halimić, and others.
