EDIN NUMANKADIĆ LEGACY

Edin Numankadić Legacy
In 2017, the Art Collection of the Bosniak Institute – Adil Zulfikarpašić Foundation was enriched by 29 works from the Bosnian artist Edin Numankadić. He donated 24 paintings from the Traces and Records series, as well as 5 assemblages from the Boxes series, significantly contributing to the collection in the segment of contemporary artistic expression.
The Traces series is characterized by the intuitiveness and expressiveness of Numankadić’s approach in developing his visual language. The Records series builds upon this by using the brush to create indecipherable symbolic sequences, representing mere fragments of an ongoing and unstoppable creative process. The Boxes series consists of assemblages of complex conceptual structures created during the war period.
Edin Numankadić has held around 50 solo exhibitions and participated in over 350 group exhibitions both in Bosnia and Herzegovina and abroad. He has received numerous awards and recognitions, including the Sixth of April Award from the City of Sarajevo and the French Order of the Knight of Arts and Literature. He has also participated twice in the Venice Biennale: in 1993 with the project Witnesses of Existence and in 2003 as part of the Bosnian-Herzegovinian selection.
